Getting the most from your training

Before the training

• Review the course objectives in advance
• Define your personal goals & expectations for the training

During the training

• Be on time
• Avoid interruptions, turn off mobile phones, laptops etc.
• Develop your understanding, ask questions – participate in discussion & activities
• Be attentive & courteous
• Keep an open mind
• Make notes on key points, don’t try to transcribe
• Highlight personal learning points & strengths

Immediately after the training (within one week)

• Review material, notes & learning points
• Act to apply new knowledge & skills without delay
• Discuss with your manager or coach
• Plan further progress review two months later
